On Tuesday 11th June, Misha, Olly and Andy had the pleasure of presenting Misha’s Vineyard wines at the oldest wine club in New Zealand. With over 20 years of history, the Redwood Wine Club has been bringing in winemakers and winery owners each month to show and talk about their wines. Being in the heart of New Zealand’s most famous wine region has not produced a parochial perspective of wines, but rather an intense interest in the widely diverse styles of wines from different regions and parts of the world.
We were delighted to have a very good turnout of members – far more than normal it seemed. Over 70 of the club’s members turned out to see our range of Misha’s Vineyard Central Otago wines, and to hear about the development and stories around the Misha’s Vineyard brand. We were a little concerned that the high number of attendees on the night was going to stretch the reach of the wines we had bought along for tasting, however the experienced pourers issued just the right amount and there was even a small amount left in the bottles to satisfy some requests for a second taste!
Olly Masters, our winemaker, presented each of the wines which lead to lots of questions being asked about our vineyard and winemaking practices. The wine tasting segments was indispersed with stories from Andy and Misha who talked about the history of the land and development of the brand. The audience seemed very keen to hear about the journey of building a wine brand from scratch.
Our thanks go to the Redwood Wine Club organisers – and to the members who came along to the tasting night. It was a real pleasure to present to such an interested audience and to get so many great comments on our wines.
