While most expressions of Sauvignon Blanc are best enjoyed young, there are some that age beautifully and develop wonderful flavours and softness. The Starlet is one of these styles with the combination of rich fruit from the west facing slopes of the vineyard and the portion of the wine that is barrel fermented to add depth and mid-palate silkiness. These wines have been carefully stored in temperature controlled conditions and are perfect for special occasions.
2010 Vintage
This is a unique expression of Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of passionfruit, snow pea and a hint of sandalwood spice. Its rich and lingering palate is balanced by a refreshing hint of citrus.
2011 Vintage
An exotically delicate and fragrant nose of citrus, sandalwood and lilies but with an underlying sense of depth, this Sauvignon Blanc has a rich and supple palate that hints of ripe passionfruit and tropical forest. An elegant tight purity finishes the wine gracefully.
2012 Vintage
This Sauvignon Blanc has intense lifted aromas of crushed passionfruit, tropical fruits, sandalwood and herbs. The palate opens with a crisp citrus lime acidity, yet is braided with complexity and a sense of place.
2013 Vintage
A unique expression of this variety showing both ripe tropical fruit notes along with more intense dark aromas of fennel, pink grapefruit and crushed passion fruit seeds. The palate opens with a bright sweet citrus acidity, is fine and tight with great fruit density finishing with touches of boxwood spice.
2014 Vintage
With an expressive lifted nose of grapefruit, mandarin and aniseed, this Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc balances sweet ripe passionfruit with fresh citrus acidity and retains a fine and elegant palate. The barrel ferment portion gives extra complexity and depth.
2015 Vintage
A unique mix of mango, lemongrass, white pear and fennel aromas, this silky Sauvignon Blanc has citrus notes followed by a depth of flavour that lingers with hints of passionfruit.
2016 Vintage
With an expressive lifted nose of tropical fruits, lime and aniseed, this wine has a gentle citrus sweet palate, bright mineral acidity and a lingering pink grapefruit finish.
2017 Vintage
With exotically fragrant aromas of elderflower, lime and passionfruit, the rounded palate has tropical fruits with pineapple notes balanced by a fresh citrus acidity.
2018 Vintage
Exotic aromas of passionfruit, rock melon and ripe citrus lead to a dense palate of tropical fruit that’s balanced by refreshing acidity and a long dry elegant finish.
2019 Vintage
With attractive aromas of sweet lime and passionfruit along with notes of liquorice, blackcurrant and mango, this wine has bright citrus acidity but a gentle palate overall with lingering fruit sweetness.
2020 Vintage
Fresh lime and citrus overlay classic varietal notes of passionfruit and grapefruit with a gentle flowing palate combining intense tropical fruits with a lemon zest acidity.
2021 Vintage
Tropical fruit aromas of papaya and pineapple combine with exotic cardamon and bergamot spice notes, the palate has great fruit density with a lingering citrus finish.
2022 Vintage
Lifted aromatics of citrus, spice, and crushed passionfruit seeds, the fresh palate has a mineral complexity and herbal notes balanced by a floral elderflower sweetness.
