Misha’s Vineyard Announces Langton’s as Exclusive Distribution Partner in Australia

CROMWELL, Central Otago, New Zealand, 29 March 2019.

Misha’s Vineyard, one of the region’s leading premium wine producers, is now exclusively represented in Australia through Langton’s – the country’s foremost fine wine retailer.

“The name Langton’s is synonymous with fine wine so it’s a great honour that they have
selected our brand to be part of their portfolio of producers” said Misha Wilkinson who own’s
Misha’s Vineyard with her husband Andy. “Consumption of both domestic and imported Pinot
Noir has been growing steadily in Australia in recent years and the Central Otago region,
which has become the Pinot Noir capital of New Zealand, is acclaimed globally as producing
some the world’s best examples”.

In addition to a range of Pinot Noirs, Langton’s will also offer a selection of the Misha’s
Vineyard cool-climate aromatic white wines including Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewürztraminer.
“Misha and Andy’s uncompromising approach to every facet of their operation, alongside Olly
Masters’ gift with grapes, make Misha’s Vineyard wines the ideal offering for Langton’s
customers” said Florian Thoelke, Senior Buyer, Langton’s. “Misha’s Vineyard wines are some
of the most consistent and highly-rated wines in Central Otago, and we are proud to offer
them exclusively in Australia.”

The Wilkinsons spent two years to find the ideal site on which to establish their vineyard
which was planted in 2004. The spectacular 57-hectare estate on the edge of Lake Dunstan
is in the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. The focus for the first ten years at Misha’s
Vineyard was producing consistently high-quality wines and building a brand working
primarily with top restaurants, five-star hotels, premium wine retailers and private buyers
through the establishment of a network of distributors around the world as well as in New
Zealand. Two years ago, the Misha’s Vineyard Tasting Room was opened in Cromwell
signifying a new phase of growth for the company.

“A significant number of visitors to our tasting room are from Australia so we’re delighted that
we are now able to offer them the ability to continue to purchase our wines when they return
home” said Misha Wilkinson.

Founded in 1988, Langton’s began as a specialist wine auction house and created a
Classification of Fine Wine in 1991, which has become the ultimate form guide to Australian
Fine Wine. Langton’s was instrumental in developing the secondary (auction) market for
Australian wine and in building the market for fine imported wines. In 2011, Langton’s, now
owned by Woolworths, acquired a fine wine brokerage service to further enhance its position
in the market. As the business has evolved Langton’s now offers one of the most advanced
fine wine services in the world.
