Local Wine Tasting and “A Night to Remember”

Local Wine Tasting and “A Night to Remember”

February was busy!

The Town & Country Club enjoys great views across the river

Cromwell Town & Country Club
Having recently returned from a visit to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, Misha and Andy then hosted a wine tasting at the local Cromwell Town & Country Club. There was an enthusiastic group of wine lovers who were keen to try the range of wines and hear the story behind Misha’s Vineyard Wines. After Andy’s introduction to a little of the New Zealand wine scene, Misha took the group on a journey through some interesting facts on Central Otago then into a tasting of several of the wines. It was great to see many local Cromwell people keen to learn a little about the sensational wines being produced in their town. The wine industry has helped in the transformation of Cromwell into a vibrant town with good growth and lots of new opportunities for residents.

Misha talks about our wines and story behind them

With healthy wine sales following the tasting it seems we have a few more fans here!

A Night To Remember

A Night to Remember
On Friday 16th it was a drive down to Dunedin to attend a charity dinner – A Night to Remember – at the Dunedin Town Hall. With over 400 attendees this annual event is a major fund-raiser for the Otago Medical Research Foundation and has been supported by Misha’s Vineyard for 4 years now with wines for the dinner and one of the main Charity Auction prizes. It was fantastic to be invited to join Hamish Caithness at his table of family and friends. Hamish was the successful bidder last year for our prize of a Heliview tour of the Cromwell Basin, lunch on the vineyard and a tutored wine tasting for four. He loved the trip so much he has visited us several times since!
Sir Ian Botham interviewed by event organiser Steve Davie
The event featured speakers Li Cunxin (Mao’s Last Dancer) and cricketing great Sir Ian Botham as well as a great meal, good music and fantastic company. The night raised over $100k for this very worthy cause and we are looking forward to treating this year’s successful bidder for our Heliview and Misha’s Vineyard prize to an amazing Central Otago experience.
