“Wines of the Week”, Joelle Thomson, MiNDFOOD, 15 Dec, 2008

2008 Misha’s Vineyard Limelight Riesling. Just 136 cases of this new first edition Central Otago wine were made. It’s a stunner. Like the best rieslings from New Zealand’s deep south, this wine has pronounced apple and lime flavours and is just off dry in style. Made by winemaker Olly Masters, it is the brainchild of Misha Wilkinson, who has planted her new vineyard on the slopes of Lake Dunstan in Bendigo.

2007 Misha’s Vineyard The Audition Pinot Noir As its name implies, The Audition is the first ever Pinot Noir from the new Misha’s Vineyard, planted on the shores of Lake Dunstan in Bendigo, Central Otago. Made from young vines, it’s an opulent Pinot Noir made in tiny quantities (just 100 cases this time round), which will grow as times goes on. Primary fruit flavours and a medium to light bodied style define this soft southern red wine.

2008 Misha’s Vineyard The Gallery Gewurztraminer Another limited release, in terms of bottles made (just 184 cases), this stunning new Gewurztraminer is the star of the new Misha’s Vineyard wine launch this year. Intensely aromatic, spicy and medium bodied, it tastes gorgeous with Indian food or anything where there is a hint of cumin. This wine is a star.
